Additionally, from Australian Vogue, comes more details about the new Hugo Boss ad campaign, starring Jonathan:

Hugo Boss launches new men’s fragrance

Jonathan Rhys Meyers would have to be the Alex Perry of the luxury advertising business. The Irish actor/model has his pretty face in every pie having starred in the Versace fashion house campaigns for several seasons and now pouts regularly for Hugo Boss fragrances.

The star’s latest role sees him storming the streets of Buenos Aires for the Hugo Element scent: a fresh, marine-scented juice housed in a sporty oxygen tank designed for the urban man. It’s a role that sits well with the self-confessed big city dweller. “I’m a born urbanite. The urban environment feels familiar to me and whichever city I visit, I somehow seem to find my way around it instinctively,” he says.

Here’s hoping a spritz of the Hugo Element scent will help Rhys Meyers find his way to Australia when it launches here in March 2009.

According to Cosmetic News, this campaign will include TV, print, and internet advertising featuring Jonathan.

From Paris update

‘From Paris With Love’ shoot canceled

CANNES — John Travolta and Jonathan Rhys Meyers will no longer be sending love from Paris, as the shoot for Pierre Morel’s “From Paris With Love” in the nearby suburb of Montfermeil — home to one of the nation’s toughest housing projects — has been canceled.

Ten cars belonging to Europacorp’s production team were found burned out by unknown arsonists, leading writer-producer Luc Besson and company to pack up their things and head out of the region.

The $55 million thriller about a young embassy worker and a U.S. secret agent on a high-risk mission in Paris was set for an 11-week shoot in and around the capital.

“It’s a real shame. The project should have been gratifying and valuable for everyone,” the town’s mayor, Xavier Lemoine, said Tuesday, adding that 90 residents were to have served as extras.

Europacorp said only that filming of the housing project scenes is suspended pending a review.
